I haven’t written about my “running” in many moons. Yup, I’m still running and training for a marathon.
Shock! In less than one month is the race. Heading East over the Cascades to Mazama, WA. Hoping for some sun but not too hot. Likely be cool at the start (30s) but should warm up into the 60s. This ‘race’ is mostly about the team relay but they allow individuals to run the entire course. Not sure the size but likely another small race, few hundred runners.
Here is a nice picture from the start last year:

I will not have logged nearly the mileage as I did before Sacramento, but enough to finish. Completed two 20 milers, a 19, and two 18 milers. I expect to finish the race but will be a struggle and likely finish around 4:15hr. There is one LARGE hill at mile 14, climbing 700 feet very quickly. But, most of the course is on dirt road or dirt trails, so the knees will appreciate the soft foot landings.
Another nice pic of the scenery from the North Cascades:
Today, started my taper so the training should be all downhill from here.
looks like it’s going to be a gorgeous run!
