Too many little gems we forget

Within days of adopting Will, when he would wake up in his crib and want our attention, he’d stand up (head barely above the rail) and make Owl like “hoo,” “hoo” sounds. Even after he could pronounce “momma”, he continued to call to us with the “hoo” “hoo”. Every time it made us laugh and likely that is why he continued it for almost a year.

Really wish we’d recorded that call.

Agreed, many memories go by the wayside. Anne’s mom keeps a book of all the goofy things the grandkids say. I think it’ taken her all the forgotten memories about her own five children to realize that if she wants to remember the grandkids’ gems she’s got to write them down.

This should inspire us to do better capturing our kids as they grow up. But being inspired and doing something about it are two different things — we still miss/forget much more than we remember. đŸ˜¦ Good thing they keep making more!
